Rage

Imagine a young Idaho worker choosing their employer sponsored insurance. Imagine the difficulty. How much copay? How much deductible? What network? What out of network fees? Healthy young person, why not choose the cheapest option? They do. Can’t blame that choice.

Then imagine that young person gets sick. They try to get an appointment with a family doc. That’s what they’d always been told to do. The next opening for a new patient is in 6 months. So, they go to an urgent care. The “doctor” (nurse practitioner, physician assistant?) says they should go to a specialist.

The specialist has an opening in three weeks. They aren’t better, so they go.

The specialist recommends tests. The specialist says their office has checked with the young person’s health insurance and the tests are covered. They are done.

The tests are inconclusive.

The specialist orders imaging. The young patient checks with their insurance to see if they are covered. Long times on hold, the person who finally answers can’t tell them if the imaging is covered or not.

They get the imaging.

They get a bill for $1000 for the imaging.

They get a bill for $1600 for the tests that the specialist said were covered. This amounts to more than half a month’s pay. They hope they have some slack, some savings. Most don’t.

Wouldn’t you want to get a gun?

I am so very sorry that the CEO for United Health was shot and killed this week. Nobody, not even a CEO who makes $10.3 Million dollars a year should die for this travesty of health care we, the sheep, all of us out here bleating, have accepted.

This system sucks.

But nobody seems to care.

Except the guy with the gun.

That’s not the solution.

I don’t hear President Biden’s solution.

I don’t hear President elect Trump’s solution.

The only mention of healthcare in this last lousy campaign was Trump’s hit piece in Kamala saying she’d give transexual inmates free care.

Was this vote, this last election a call from us, the bleating masses a demand for a solution? They get their sex affirming surgery, what about me?

Is our health care in this country a forbidden political topic?

It is quite telling that the now deceased CEO ($10.3M!!!) was going to an “investor meeting” for United Healthcare. This is the company that employs 10% of all doctors in this country. It sells health insurance and has pharmacies. There’s profit everywhere.

And there are sick people everywhere. If we could just make a profit on all those sick people, our investors would be happy

The US corrupt ($10.3M!!!) system of healthcare is crippling us. We get lousy care, and we pay too much for it.

Think of that young Idaho worker. They might want to buy a house or start their own business. Maybe hire some other folks and do what they do, sell a service, sell a product.

Not gonna happen now. Gotta get out from under these bills.

The medical system, doctors, hospitals, pharma, insurance industry have kept the system so arcane, us sheep just move where their barking dogs tell us to. We send them more money, the doctors and the hospitals and the Big Pharma than any other country in the world. And we get more snapping at our heels. Round up. Stay in the pack.

It’s time for us sheep to have some rage.

No guns.

I’ve been butted by a ewe in a farm lot. It makes an impression.

We have the ballot. We have the will. Let’s not be sheep anymore.

We can solve this.

I believe.
