The next city council meeting on June 2 will include discussion of the 2021 city budget and include discussion of several items citizens have expressed concerns about. Those include a new city hall with a price tag of between $4 million and $6 million and a new full-time police officer. There will also be a discussion of paving park paths at Hawn Creek Park and Wennerberg Park. And there are concerns that, given the economic effects of Covid-19, that the budget may be over-optimistic. Property tax and utility rate increases also are expected to be discussed.
