The law allows city candidates to file for office either by paying a fee or by circulating a petition and gathering enough signatures. Naturally, we’re going the petition route, not only to save money but also to demonstrate that there’s candidate support in the city.
To sign our petition, you need to be a registered voter living in the city of Carlton. (Those qualifications will actually be reviewed by city staff, as they’re legally required to.) You sign your name, date it, print your name and mailing address. That’s it.
We’ll collect them around Carlton and submit them at City Hall. It’s step 1 in our campaign.
